About May Nail Art Challenge

Hello ladies!
Sorry I haven't been posting anything, I honestly haven't had the time. I won't be doing the challenge anymore, because I have finals next week and I have to study like if there was no tomorrow!
I'll be doing June's challenge starting on the second week of the month.
I'll leave you with some pictures of the manis I've had the time to do this week.

Thanks for understanding!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 22!

Hello ladies!
Today's challenge was polka dots. Polka dots are probably one of the classiest manis and are very simple to do!
I painted a pink-ish base color and then with mint acrylic paint I added the dots using a dotting tool.

I will be doing a nail care routine series during summer, I will be teaching you how I take care of my petite nails!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 20!

Hello ladies!
Today's challenge is...strawberries. What a weird challenge!
I really thought about what to do for the challenge and I came up with...STRAWBERRY MILKSHAKE!
I did a simple pink/white gradient that didn't actually look like a gradient but O still loved the milkshake-ish effect I got!
Hope you liked it!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 16!

Hello ladies!
Today's challenge was simple, a swatch of a pastel color. I swatched Sally Hansen's 'Lacey Lilac'. It is a beautiful crème light purple. Great coverage, no bubbles, full opacity with 1 coat and dries fast. I totally recommend this color for your coming spring manis.

Of course I just couldn't leave my nails like that, I had to do nail art!
I wanted to do a glitter gradient, but it didn't work- note to myself: watch YT vids of glitter gradients-. Then I thought of dots, but it was too simple. So after 15 minutes of staring at my nails I decided to do a dot gradient, yes, you read that right! It is really simple to do with a dotting tool and acrylic paint.
Isn't amazing? It has like a soap foam rising effect, I love it!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 12!

Hello ladies!
Today's challenge was to do a mani with random doodles. You might think this one was an easy one, but I actually had a really hard time thinking about what to do.
I ended doing a mani inspired on brittle stars, but with a color spin. I used brown and gold acrylic paint for the lines and dots.
It is a pretty simple design, you just have to let your hand flow.
I will be posting a tutorial on this probably tomorrow.

The amazing girls from @ohverlays on Instagram did the amazing overlay I will be using in my pictures from now on. Follow them and check their work out, you won't regret it.

May Nail Art Challenge day 10!

Hello ladies!
Today's challenge is ootd inspired nails. It is so hard for me to do ootd inspired nails since I wear my school's uniform.
So I did something with blue, it is one of my school's colors so why not!
I did a water spotted mani with two different shades of blue. I love this technique so much, it is easy and simple but it can give your mani a totally different look!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 7!

JHello ladies!
Isn't it just amazing how neon colors can make everything look better?
I was really happy to do today's challenge because I kind of love neons!
I made a simple tribal/geometrical design with a white base.
Simple design yet really eye catching.

Saran Wrap tutorial!

Hello ladies!
I decided to make a tutorial for all of you ladies out there that want to try something new and simple. I promise that you will have a lot of fun doing this!

STEPS:

1- Paint your nails with a white base, one coat will be enough. Let it dry completely.
2- Put medium sized drops of the colors you chose. Use as many colors as you want.
3- Gently with a piece of saran wrap start tapping the dots you put. Be careful, don't tap to hard.
4- Create the design you want. There isn't a wrong way to do it, just have fun!
5- Apply some fine glitter and top coat it.

I hope you liked it!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 4!

Hello readers!
Today's challenge is about Star Wars. I'm not a big Star Wars fan so I had a really hard time on choosing what to do. I finally decided I would do R2D2, he is adorable and well I love him.
I painted R2D2's head as my accent nail using a white base, blue, black, and white acrylic paint. The rest of the nails are a simple gray base with purple glitter(I don't even know why, I just loved how it looked!).
Actually, I love how R2D2 turned out! This was the first time I painted a character onto my nails, I might keep doing it because it is challenging and fun.

May the 4th be with you!

May Nail Art Challenge Day 1!

Hello ladies! May is finally here, this year has past by incredibly fast!
Today's challenge was flowers, yes I love doing flowers on my nails!
I created free handed white flowers using acrylic paint and a medium brush. For the leaves I used dark and light green acrylic paint and I used the same medium brush. The base for this nail art is a beautiful, deep, and vibrant fuchsia which I love!
I might post a tutorial on this design tomorrow!

Favorite Manis From April + May's challenge!

Hello ladies!
April has been I great month for me. Not only in my personal life but in my nail art too. And I really wanted to show all of you my favorites manis of this month! I've improved a lot in my nail polish application, clean up and nail art techniques.
Challenges such as the one I did last month make me do nail art and make learn new techniques. If it wasn't because of this challenge I would have never done a braided mani or galaxy nails. Thats why I love this challenges, because they make you experience with new techniques and you always try to do your best.
This month I'll be doing the challenge too. And I will finish it as I did with the April's one. There are a lot of interesting things in this challenge so I'm actually pretty excited.

Ladies, I hope that May will be great to all of you. I can already feel that May is going to be an AMAZING month not only for me but for all of you! Start with a positive attitude and wake up everyday with a big smile on your face and thank God because He gave you one more day.

April Nail Art Challenge Days 25 & 30!

Oh hey there!
This is the last challenge of the month *inserts sad face* but the good thing is that the challenge is "pastels"...and well I love pastels!
I did a simple tape mani combining the challenges from day 25(gold/silver) and day 30. It came out pretty decent for being my first time using nail tape.
I did a silver and gold accent nails topped with a baby blue color. It looks way better in real life but my camera wasn't able to capture the true colors.
I'm going to do May's challenge too... Just wait for it!

April Nail Art Challenge Day 28!

Hello ladies!
First of all, I'm really sorry for not being able to do day 25's challenge(gold/silver).
I was really tired and sick that day so I didn't feel like doing my nails. I hope you all understand.

Now onto day 28's challenge! I've been waiting for this day all month, I wanted to do the galaxy nails SO BAD! I'm really excited about how this mani turned out. Galaxy nails are so easy to do because you can do them however you want.
I used white acrylic paint, blue, purple, yellow, orange, pink, and black nail polish to create this design. Also glitter nail polish to give the "stars" effect.
I hope you liked this post!

April Nail Art Challenge Day 19!

Morning ladies!
Its finally Friday and today's challenge is MINT, I was pretty excited for this challenge because mint green is my favorite color!
I did another tribal(obsessed much?) with mint acrylic paint and some white dots. I love how the mint pops out because of the black base. Take a look!

April Nail Art Challenge Day 16!

Morning nail art lovers!
Today's challenge is "Outfit Of The Day"(ootd).
I don't really have ootd because I have to wear my school's uniform during the week(boring!!). So Idid a mani using one of the colors my uniform has...beige. You might think it is boring to do a mani with only beige, but guess what? It has neon, neon tribal print! YAY!
Tribal print is SO EASY to do, and you can play a lot with it by using different colors and shapes. You only need a thin brush, acrylic paint and lots of imagination to do it. Try it, I dare you! ;)
Enjoy this crazy mani!

April Nail Art Challenge Day 13!

Hello ladies!
For day 13 I was supposed to do an Ombre mani, so I did. It came out pretty good I must say. I made a blue(I love blue) ombre with blue ombre dots. It is a simple mani but the detail with the dots adds it a little something that makes it look lovely. I hope that all of you liked this mani!
Have a great day! :)

-Maria

PS: I will be using a new watermark. If you are wondering the app I use is called "Curved".

April Nail Art Challenge day 10!

BRIGHTSSSS! Brights, this is today's challenge. I couldn't capture the brightness of this nail polish, even though it is really bright. I added a geometrical design with dots to outline it.
Everyone in my school said it kind of looked like kiwis!

April Nail Art Challenge day 4 & 7!

Sorry! I haven't been able to post these two challenges on time because has been crazy this week and it will get crazier these coming weeks.
But here they are! Day 4 was a swatch. I chose a really weird yet gorgeous color. And for day 7 is the braided technique. It is a complex technique because you have to be really patient and let every layer dry well, otherwise everything will smudge and won't dry.
I hope you like both of these.
Have a good day and paint your nails! ;)

DIY Nail Strengthener & Hand Exfoliator

Good night darlings! I'm really sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I've been really busy.
Well, today's DIY projects are really simple. Most of the ingredients are in your kitchen and by most I mean all of them. ;)

Lets get started!!
First the nail strengthener. My grandma taught me this, she said it worked amazing for her.

Materials:
You will need a potato, a grater and a pair of gloves.

Instructions:
1- Prepare your potato and grater.
2- Find a plate where you have enough space to place your hands. Start grating your potato, all of it.
3- Apply the potato under and on top of your nails, then put the gloves on. Let it stay for 10-15 minutes.
(Pictutorial will be at the bottom)

Second the hand exfoliator. I saw this on www.thebeautydepartment.com(so credit goes to them!)

Materials:
4 tbs. of Sugar(I used organic sugar), 2 tbs. of olive oil(or any type of oil you want), a lemon, 1/2 tbs. of honey and a pair of gloves.

Instructions:
1- Put your sugar in a small container.
2- Add the oil. Mix gently.
3- Add the lemon and honey.
4- Mix it all. Apply it to your hands, massage them gently and put the gloves on. Let it stay for 5 minutes or more.

I hope these DIY projects work for you ladies! Comment below if you have any opinions!
Thanks for reading! :*

Aztec Design.

Good Night lovely ladies(and gentleman)!
Hope you are all doing fine.
Today's post is about Aztec designs/pattern. I made a really simple one, I used black and purple acrylic paint. For the base I used OPI Mermaid Tears. Also, I did an accent nail with silver glitter.
A simple design like this one can turn a boring, plain manicure into a gorgeous manicure.
